Mohammed Nasir Uddin Chowdhury is serving as Managing Director of Lanka Bangla Securities Limited and LankaBangla Group Capital Market Operations. Before joining in the current position Mr. Chowdhury served LankaBangla Finance Limited (LBFL) as the Managing Director. Prior to that Mr. Chowdhury also served LankaBangla Securities Limited as Chief Executive from July 2002 to April 2011.
Mr. Chowdhury was the then Senior Vice President and Director of Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited from May 2010 to March 2011 and May 2008 to May 2010 respectively. Presently Mr. Chowdhury is the president of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA) for 2018-2019. He chairs one of the first venture capital organizations in Bangladesh, BD Venture Ltd. He is also the vice chairman of FinExcel, a capacity building institute for financial institutions. He holds a directorship at Eastern Cables Ltd, as well.
Mr. Chowdhury attended a number of training, workshop and seminar at home and abroad including USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand and other countries. Mr. Chowdhury participated in “On the Job Training Program of the Chief Executives” conducted by “Singapore Institute of Management” and also attended leadership program on “Authentic Leadership Development” from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. Mr. Chowdhury has a rare blend of expertise in money market and capital market. He is a prominent private equity arranger and successfully arranged financing for many start-ups in Bangladesh.
Mr. Chowdhury completed his graduation and post-graduation from the University of Chittagong. He is a life time member at International business forum of Bangladesh (IBFB). Currently, he is the President of Old Faujian Association, Dhaka Chapter. Mr. Chowdhury is an active member of Dhaka Club and Chittagong Club.
Mr. S.M Nashir Uddin is the Head of Branches Dhaka Region of LankaBangla Securities Limited. He has served the commercial sector for a long time in various renowned companies. He has 20 years of vast experience in different corporate sectors of Bangladesh and among them 8 years of his career was with the Bangladeshi Stock market as a CEO of BD Sunlife Securities and Sterling Stocks & Securities Limited. Mr. Nashir has worked closely with stakeholders to develop the capital market of the country. He is also a very well-known face in national media as an expert in the Capital Market of Bangladesh. Mr. Nashir completed B.Com (Honours), M.Com Major in Management from Chittagong Commerce College, MBA from Dhaka University, Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management from BIM, and Post Graduate Diploma course in Supply Chain Management under WTO, UNCTAD Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Mohammad Shaidus Zaman is the Head of Operations in LankaBangla Securities Limited. Before joining LankaBangla He has been performing the duties as the Head of Accounts in Computer Source Limited. Prior to that, he started his professional career in 2005 with a Leading CA Firm Hoda Vasi Chowdhury & Co. He has been in the field of Finance and Accounting for more than 12 years, specifically emphasizing on financial reporting, management reporting, regulatory compliance of Tax & VAT and in internal control and compliance through Internal Audit and Reporting. He also got himself trained in several managerial, leadership and professional trainings. He has obtained Master’s in Accounting and completed the Chartered Accountancy Article ship.
